Privacy Policy

LyfPath has no financial product to sell, so there is nothing to gain from your data beyond making your own picture clearer. This page says exactly what that means in practice.

Privacy at a glance

You type it, you own itYour financial picture is data you entered yourself. Delete all of it from Settings at any time.
Never sold, never sharedLyfPath earns nothing from financial products, so your data is never a lead or a targeting signal.
No bank loginsThere are no account numbers to enter and nothing to connect. We could not read your accounts if we wanted to.
Your numbers stay off the feedNothing from your finances appears in a Community post unless you put it there.

Who we are

LyfPath is operated by LyfPath Intelligence. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here, and you are the Data Principal.

You can always reach us at support@lyfpathintelligence.com.

What we collect

LyfPath is unusual in that nearly everything we hold is information you deliberately entered in order to see it reflected back to you.

CategoryWhat it includesHow we get it
Account The details you give us to create and secure an account, and to contact you about the Service You provide it
Cash flow Roughly what comes in and what goes out each month You enter it
What you hold and owe Investments, property, gold and other assets, insurance cover, loans and their repayments — as amounts and categories, never account numbers You tap and enter it
Who depends on you The number of dependants, and the details you choose to record about them You enter it
Goals Goal type, amount, date, priority, what you have allocated to it, and what you contribute You enter it
Assumptions Inflation, income growth, healthcare costs, life expectancy, retirement age You set them, or accept our defaults
Derived results Your net worth, free monthly amount, WIS score and its five pillars, forecasts, ranges and drift alerts Computed from the above
Community activity Posts, polls, votes, comments, likes, saves, shares, the topics you follow, and reports you make You publish it
Learn activity What you have watched or read, and progress through a course Collected as you use Learn
Support correspondence The messages you send us and our replies You write to us
Device and technical data Device type, operating system version, app version, language, crash diagnostics, and basic usage events such as which screens are opened Collected automatically

We never ask for a bank password, card number, UPI PIN or any other payment credential, because LyfPath never moves money and has no use for them. If anything ever asks you for one in our name, it is not us.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent, trade or share it with data brokers.
  • We do not pass your details to funds, insurers or banks. We take no commission, so you are never a lead.
  • We do not use your financial data for advertising or behavioural targeting, on or off the Service.
  • We do not put your numbers on the feed. Nothing is ever posted to Community on your behalf.
  • We do not accept payment for placement in Learn, in Community, or anywhere your score or forecast is shown.

No account linking

LyfPath deliberately does not connect to your bank, broker, fund house or insurer. You tell it roughly what comes in and goes out, then tap what you hold and owe. There are no account numbers to enter, no credentials to share and no aggregator in the middle.

This is a privacy decision as much as a product one: the fastest way to keep your transaction history safe is not to hold it. If we ever introduce an optional way to import data, we will update this policy first and describe exactly what would be read, by whom, for how long, and how to revoke it — and you would have to choose it.

AI, machine learning and your data

Your forecasts come from models running over the numbers you entered and the history your own account builds up. The models learn the rhythm of your money — bonus months, festival spending, school fees, rising costs — so that your forecasts sharpen the longer you use the app.

We do not sell your data to train anyone else's model, and your personal financial records are not published or shared as training material. Where we improve our own models, we work with aggregated and de-identified data wherever that is sufficient.

Every forecast shows the assumptions behind it, and you can change any of them. Model outputs — scores, ranges, drift alerts, “smallest fix” suggestions — are guidance computed from your inputs, never advice, and no automated decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by the Service.

Other people in your picture

A household picture usually includes other people: a partner's income, the dependants who rely on you, a jointly held property.

When you record that, you are responsible for being entitled to do so, and we ask you to tell those people what you have recorded and point them to this policy. LyfPath asks for as little about them as the planning needs — usually a count, a relationship and an amount, rather than a full identity.

Other people do not get their own log-in to your picture. If shared household access is introduced, this policy will be updated before it ships.

Community posts

Community is a public space within the app. What you post there is visible to other members, along with the name and picture on your profile.

Your financial profile, goals and WIS score stay private unless you add them to a post yourself. Polls record that a vote was cast so results can be counted and you are not asked twice. You can delete any post at any time, and deleting your account removes the posts and comments you wrote.

Please do not put another person's financial or identifying details into a post. If someone does, report it and we will act.

Who else sees your data

We keep this list deliberately short. We share personal data only with:

  • Infrastructure and hosting providers who store and serve the Service on our behalf, under contract, and who may not use your data for their own purposes;
  • Email and notification providers, to deliver service messages;
  • Diagnostics providers, for crash and stability reporting;
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, auditors — where genuinely necessary;
  • Authorities, where we are required to disclose by law, and then only what is required.

Expert partners whose material appears in Learn receive nothing about you. You can ask us at any time which processors currently hold your data, and we will tell you.

If LyfPath is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or transfer of assets, your data may move with the Service. You will be told before that happens and before any new policy applies to you.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that limit staff access to what a task actually requires, audit logging on administrative access, and regular review of our dependencies. Holding no bank credentials removes the most valuable thing an attacker could look for.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been reached by someone else, write to us immediately. Where a breach is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

How long we keep it

DataKept for
Your financial picture and goalsAs long as your account exists, because it is the product. Delete an entry and it goes.
History used by the forecasting modelsAs long as your account exists; it is deleted with the account
Community posts and commentsUntil you delete them or your account
Support correspondenceUp to 24 months after the conversation ends
Crash and diagnostic logsUp to 90 days
Records we must keep by lawOnly for the period the law requires, and then deleted

When you delete your account from Settings, deletion begins on confirmation, is not reversible, and covers your profile, financial data, goals and posts — subject only to any legally required retention period.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and who we have shared it with;
  • Correct, complete or update it — in LyfPath, most of this is simply editing the figure in the app;
  • Erase it, by deleting individual entries or everything from Settings;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it;
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated;
  • Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if our answer does not satisfy you.

To exercise any right that is not already a control in the app, write to support@lyfpathintelligence.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and can be turned off at any time. LyfPath tells you when your score moves, when a goal starts drifting, and what is worth doing next. It does not send market-price alerts, and it does not use notifications to push you toward a product.

Children

LyfPath is for adults, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account. Recording that you have dependants, including their ages, is information about your household rather than an account for them.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, processing a child's personal data requires verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Cookies and this website

This website sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and embeds no third-party trackers. Its fonts are served from this site rather than a font network, so visiting a page here does not tell anyone else that you did.

Where your data is held

Your data is stored on infrastructure located in India. Where a provider processes data outside India, we do so only to the extent permitted by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any restrictions the Government notifies, and under contracts that require an equivalent standard of protection.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the Service changes or the law requires. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and we will notify you in the app or by email before a material change takes effect — particularly before anything that would let LyfPath read data from outside the app.

Contact and grievances

For any question about this policy, to exercise a right, or to raise a grievance, write to us. Our Grievance Officer under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 can be reached at the same address. If our response does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
